Librarians write WACKY limericks at Library Institute

Thanks to the good folks at the Arizona State Library my son, Michael Moorehead, author of "The Student from Zombie Island" presented "How I got published at 11: Encouraging Young Readers & Writers," and I presented "Edutain to Reach the Brain: Library Edition" to rural librarians and assistant librarians who participated in Library Institute on June 6 at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ.
As part of my program, which demonstrates how to use humor and entertainment to grab and retain the attention of students, the attendees wrote limericks based on chapters they read in "Arizona Way Out West & Wacky," and I had their permission to share a few of them with you. (Hey kids: If you think you can write better ones, send them in and I'll post them. They must all be based on chapters you read in "Arizona Way Out West & Wacky.")
Based on "Respect this Monster" on Page 73:
A hefty sized guy is our lizard
He eats till he crams full his gizzard
His scales are like beads
His fat face he feeds
A regular boggling wizard
Based on "Keeping history alive?" on Page 104:
In Tombstone the outlaws did reign
Causing each other much pain
They've gone to the grave
They could not be saved
In Boothill with fame they remain.
Based on "Step aside Spiderman" on Page 102:
There once was a bad boy named Brock
He vanished on top of Spider Rock
His friends went a look'n
They all went a book'n
'Cuz all they found was white chalk
Based on "Girl Power" on Page 101:
Sharlot Hall, a historian, could not vote
She wore a silk dress and copper coat
At home she worked more
A mansion to restore
And now all AZ women can vote
