"WITCH" WAY TO THE BALL? ARIZONA AUTHOR TEAMS WITH FIVE STAR PUBLICATIONS IN A MAGICAL MAKEOVER ADVENTURE

Chandler, Ariz. (Winter 2011) - When Arizona-based author Susan L. Krueger, Ed.D. published her first book, Addie Slaughter: The Girl Who Met Geronimo, in January 2011, her second book, Horrifa's Magic Makeover: "Witch" Way to the Ball?, was already in the works, with both books designed to teach young readers important, but very different, life lessons.

Designated an Arizona Centennial Legacy project, Krueger co-authored the award-winning Addie Slaughter with Arizona historian Reba Wells Grandrud, Ph.D., as a tribute to the Grand Canyon State's Wild West history. Horrifa, by contrast, is an adventure in fantasy, creatively emphasizing the importance of remaining true to oneself despite "otherworldly" enticements. Both books are being published and marketed by Five Star Publications, Inc. "We are delighted to have Susan on our Five Star author team," said Linda F. Radke, the company's president. "As an educator who specialized in teaching students to read, she is definitely giving them excellent material. Horrifa is such a fun and engaging story that young audiences won't even realize they're learning. But the message they'll ultimately get? Wow!"

Centered on the adventures of a young witch who hopes to attend a mortal ball, Horrifa is a captivating tale of enchantment sure to delight elementary-aged readers (grades 2-5). As Horrifa and her mother, Dragunda, prepare for the ball, mayhem unfolds in a pandemonious adventure that culminates with Horrifa learning two important lessons-1) her mother only wants what's best for her; and 2) being true to herself is more important than attending any castle party to impress a mortal prince.

Scheduled for release in early 2012, Horrifa's Magic Makeover will be available in traditional print as well as through electronic media, with distribution through Ingram and Baker & Taylor and www.eStarPublish.com. For more information, please visit www.HorrifaAdventures.com.
