In Don W. Volk’s memoir, Tractors, Planes, Golf and Dames, he recounts his life from days spent on the farm as a youth to serving his country as a pilot through three wars—World War II (The Greatest Generation), Korea, and Vietnam.

It traces his dogged dedication to pursuing a career with the Professional Golf Association of America. But even more important, he talks openly about his love for his wife Petie, the care he gave to girlfriend Sandy, and the love he has for his present wife Wandi, whose path crossed his after Petie passed away. Through it all, he credits his parents for the values of hard work and honesty that they instilled in him as a young man.
